WHEREAS, Elizabeth R. Griffith resigned as Probate Judge for Newberry County effective August 12, 1997, and there now exists a vacancy in that office; and

WHEREAS, the Governor is authorized to appoint a Probate Judge in the event of a vacancy pursuant to South Carolina Code Ann. Section 14-23-50; and

WHEREAS, Kelly Baker Nobles, 2422 Wilson Road, Newberry, South Carolina 29108, is a fit and proper person to serve as Probate Judge and is an elector of Newberry County.

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of this State, I hereby direct that Kelly Baker Nobles shall be appointed as Probate Judge for Newberry County, effective on the date of the execution of this Executive Order for the remainder of the current term and until a successor is elected and qualified.
