    Amend the committee amendment, as and if amended, page [20-14], after line 12, by adding an appropriately numbered SECTION to read:
/     SECTION     ___.     Article 1, Chapter 7, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

    "Section 1-7-180.     (A)     For the purposes of this section:
        (1)     'public employee' has the same meaning as Section 8-13-100(25); and
        (2)     'public official' has the same meaning as Section 8-13-100(26).
    (B)     The Attorney General may bring an action in circuit court to enjoin any act or omission by a public official or public employee that has intentionally violated federal immigration laws or related provisions of South Carolina law if the Attorney General determines that the action is necessary for the enforcement of the laws of the State, the preservation of order, and the protection of public rights.
    (C)     An injunction is the sole remedy against a public official or public employee that violates this section.
    (D)     The provisions contained in Section 1-7-50, relating to the Attorney General's obligation to represent public officials and public employees in legal actions, do not apply to actions brought by the Attorney General pursuant to this section."             /
