    Amend the bill, as and if amended, page 2, by striking lines 13 - 19 and inserting:

/             Section 44-7-84.     (A)     In the annual appropriations act, the General Assembly shall establish the maximum number of Medicaid patient days for which the department is authorized to issue Medicaid nursing home permits. In order to maximize the number of Medicaid patient days for which the department may issue Medicaid nursing home permit, the Department of Health and Human Services must expand Medicaid coverage as authorized by the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to individuals under sixty-five years of age with incomes at or below one hundred thirty-eight percent of the federal poverty level, based on modified adjusted gross income. The State Department of Health and Human Services shall provide the number of Medicaid patient days available to the department within thirty days after the effective date of the annual appropriations act.     /
