Amend the bill, as and if amended, by deleting all after the enacting words and inserting:
/ SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 35, Title 11 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 11-35-45.
(A) For the purposes of this section,
'governmental agency' means a county government, municipality,
school district, public district, county board of education,
joint powers authority, water or sewer district, special purpose
district, or any other public or municipal corporation.
(B) An official or an
engineer of a governmental agency of this state shall consider
all piping material in determining project requirements when
state funds are used for a water supply, wastewater, stormwater,
or storm drainage project.
(C) Nothing in this
section prohibits an official or an engineer of the governmental
agency from choosing a piping material in its discretion for a
project referred to in subsection (B)."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor. /
