EXPLANATION: $500,000 shall be expended by the department for treatment and services provided by the Joseph H. Neal Wellness Center and CAN Community Health Inc.
Amend the bill, as and if amended, Part IB, Section 34,
DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL, page 363,
after line 27, by adding an appropriately numbered paragraph to
read:
/(DHEC: HIV/AIDS Treatment and Prevention) From the funds
appropriated to the Department of Health and Environmental
Control in the current fiscal year for HIV and AIDS prevention
and treatment, no less than $500,000 shall be authorized for the
Joseph H. Neal Wellness Center and CAN Community Health Inc. to
develop a partnership to provide comprehensive medical,
psychological and educational services to all patients,
regardless of their financial situation, insurance status, or
ability to pay. The department shall ensure the funds are
expended solely for testing and treatment services. Funds may
be used to enhance the services provided through any allocation
of federal funds or the state's AIDS Drug Assistance Program
rebate funds. /
