WHEREAS, the State of South Carolina has a long and proud heritage of honoring it's elected officials during official ceremonies.
WHEREAS, during the second week of January 1999, groups of citizens and elected officials will be meeting in Columbia to participate in this year's ceremonies.
WHEREAS, the South Carolina National Guard has the personnel and equipment to provide both administrative and support services during the above-mentioned ceremonies.
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of the State of South Carolina, I hereby direct the Adjutant General to call to State Active Duty adequate personnel to provide needed support services that will contribute to the orderly and safe conduct of ceremonies for the transition of Governors of South Carolina
