    A Bill to amend Section 7-25-50, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to bribery at elections so as to provide that it is a felony in any election to pay, offer to pay, or accept payment of money or other article of value for voting, to provide that payment for transporting electors to and from the polls or otherwise facilitating access to the polls is not prohibited, so long as this activity is done solely for the purpose of facilitating an elector's access to the polls, and to provide penalties for violations; to amend Section 16-1-10, as amended, relating to crimes classified as felonies so as to include a violation of Section 7-25-50; and to repeal Section 7-25-60 relating to procuring or offering to procure votes by bribery.
