AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 421 OF 1978, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE REGISTRATION AND LICENSING OF VEHICLES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE ANNUAL REGISTRATION FOR TRAILERS, SEMITRAILERS AND POLE TRAILERS DEFINED IN SECTION 56-3-700, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, SHALL BEGIN ON JANUARY FIRST OF EACH YEAR AND EXPIRE ON DECEMBER THIRTY-FIRST OF EACH YEAR.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Registration of trailers

Section 1. The last paragraph of Section 1.1 of Act 421 of 1978, which was added by Section 2 of Act 470 of 1978, is amended by striking the period at the end and adding: "except those vehicles defined in Section 56-3-700 of the 1976 Code shall begin on January first of each year and expire on December thirty-first of each year."

The paragraph when amended shall read:

"Classification (2). Other vehicles. All other vehicles except those vehicles described in Section 1 of this act and classification (1) of this section are assigned an annual registration which shall begin on December first of each year and expire on November thirtieth of the next year except those vehicles defined in Section 56-3-700 of the 1976 Code shall begin on January first of each year and expire on December thirty-first of each year."

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
