AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT AND LUNCHROOM SUPERVISOR DETERMINE WHEN A PUPIL IS UNABLE TO PAY FOR LUNCH AND THAT THE CONTINUATION OF LUNCH PROGRAMS BE BASED ON AVAILABLE FEDERAL FUNDS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Inability to pay for school lunches--guidelines

Section 1. For purposes of the school lunch program, the school superintendent and the lunchroom supervisor of the school which a pupil attends shall determine when a pupil is unable to pay for lunch. A pupil's inability to pay shall be determined according to income guidelines established by the appropriate authority. A determination as to the continuation of the school lunch program shall be based on the availability of federal funds.

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
