AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE REAPPORTIONMENT OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL DISTRICTS IN DILLON COUNTY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE OFFICIAL UNITED STATES CENSUS OF 1980, TO PROVIDE FOR THE TERMS OF THE COUNCIL MEMBERS ELECTED FROM THE DISTRICTS, AND TO REPEAL ACT 812 OF 1976 RELATING TO ELECTION DISTRICTS FOR THE ELECTION OF A GOVERNING BODY OF DILLON COUNTY.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Reapportionment of Dillon County Council election districts
Section 1. Beginning with the general election in 1982, members of the County Council in Dillon County shall be elected from the following single-member election districts:

Terms
Section 2. The terms of office shall be for four years with the council members for Districts Five, Six, and Seven elected in the 1982 general election and the council members for Districts One, Two, Three, and Four elected in the 1984 general election. The terms of office shall commence on the second of January next following the respective elections.
Repeal
Section 3. Act 812 of 1976 is repealed.
Time effective
Section 4. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
