AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1982-83 FOR THE OPERATION OF THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN MARLBORO COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Budget for Marlboro County validated

Section 1. The budget of the school district of Marlboro County adopted by the Marlboro County Board of Education at its meeting on March 25, 1982, is validated. The auditor of Marlboro County shall levy, and the treasurer of Marlboro County shall collect, an ad valorem tax on property within the county of a millage sufficient to raise one million, seven hundred thirty thousand dollars to meet that portion of the budget to be raised through direct ad valorem taxation. The sum collected shall be paid to the school district of Marlboro County and used only for expenditures budgeted during the 1982-83 school year.

Time effective

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon the approval by the Governor.
