AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 50-13-1630, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO CERTAIN FISH WHICH MAY BE IMPORTED, POSSESSED, OR RELEASED IN THE WATERS OF THIS STATE, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT NONREPRODUCING WHITE AMUR OR GRASS CARP HYBRIDS MAY BE STOCKED IN THE WATERS OF THE STATE AS PERMITTED BY THE DIRECTOR OF THE DIVISION OF WILDLIFE AND FRESHWATER FISHERIES OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA WILDLIFE AND MARINE RESOURCES DEPARTMENT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Director may issue permits

SECTION 1. Section 50-13-1630 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding before the last paragraph:

"The director of the Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries of the department may issue special permits for the stocking of nonreproducing white amur or grass carp hybrids in the waters of this State."

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon approval by the Governor.
