AN ACT TO REAUTHORIZE THE EXISTENCE OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA ATHLETIC TRAINERS' ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR SIX YEARS AND TO AMEND SECTION 44-75-30, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA ATHLETIC TRAINERS' ADVISORY COMMITTEE, SO AS TO INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE BOARD FROM EIGHT TO NINE MEMBERS AND TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINERS ON THE BOARD FROM THREE TO FOUR MEMBERS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Committee reauthorized

SECTION 1. In accordance with Section 1-20-60 of the 1976 Code, the existence of the South Carolina Athletic Trainers' Advisory Committee is reauthorized for six years.

Athletic Trainers' Advisory Committee

SECTION 2. The first paragraph of Section 44-75-30(b) of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"An Athletic Trainers' Advisory Committee is created consisting of nine members appointed by the board. Two members must be from the department, one must be from the State Board of Medical Examiners, four must be certified athletic trainers, and two must be from the general public who are not certified or licensed in any health care field and are not connected in any way with athletic trainers."

Time effective

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
