The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.

Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:

O God Whose mercy is everlasting and Whose truth endures forever, we thank You that never in vain do we come to You in prayer. Always You are strengthening us with a strength that never lets us down. Forever You are loving us with a love which never lets us go. Without fail You are leading us with an assurance that never lets us off. Give us the undying desire to respond to You with a reverent determination to walk in Your ways. As we bow before this altar of prayer, make us united in the fraternity of high moral living, deep religious faith, great patriotic fervor, and a genuine desire to follow Your beckoning.

In the Name of Jesus we make our prayer. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
