A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SENATE TO THE FAMILY AND MANY ADMIRERS OF MR. W. VIRGIL WALL OF EDGEFIELD WHO DIED WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 1991.

Whereas, Mr. W. Virgil Wall of Edgefield died Wednesday, November 13, 1991; and

Whereas, elected to the Edgefield School Board of Trustees in 1969, Mr. Wall was remembered by those who worked with him on the board as a dedicated public servant who considered the education of young people as a priority in Edgefield County. Mr. Wall's term on the school board would have expired in 1994; and

Whereas, a native of Abbeville, Mr. Wall was the owner of W. V. Wall and Son Logging Co. and was a member of the South Carolina Forestry Commission. He served as president of the South Carolina Land Owners Association and was on the board of First Citizens Bank of Saluda; and

Whereas, Mr. Wall was a Navy veteran of World War II, a Shriner, and a member of the American Legion and McKendree United Methodist Church, where he served on the board of trustees and was a Sunday School teacher; and

Whereas, survivors include his wife, Blandena Timmerman Wall; three brothers, Virgil Warr, Jr., Greenwood, Billy Wall, Saluda, and Dennis Wall, Edgefield; a daughter, Sharon Keesley, Edgefield; his mother, Mable Strother Wall, McCormick; a brother, Tom Wall, McCormick; a half-sister, Ruby Hall, Florida; and nine grandchildren. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate express deepest sympathy to the family and many admirers of Mr. W. Virgil Wall of Edgefield who died Wednesday, November 13,1991.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Wall.
