TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE LICENSING BOARD FOR CONTRACTORS, RELATING TO ROOFING LICENSE/LATE RENEWAL PENALTY, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1413, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Licensing Board for Contractors, relating to roofing license/late renewal penalty, designated as Regulation Document Number 1413, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
SUMMARY AS SUBMITTED BY PROMULGATING AGENCY.
The proposed amendment to Section 29-10 would replace the current 30 day penalty for late renewals of general and mechanical contractors licenses with a monetary penalty and establish a limit for a licensee to remain inactive and maintain his examination qualifications. These regulations would become effective January 1, following final publication in the State Register.
