A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 6-11-265 SO AS TO REQUIRE THE ANNUAL BUDGET OF A SPECIAL PURPOSE OR PUBLIC SERVICE DISTRICT WHICH IS APPROVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION OF THE COUNTY IN WHICH A MAJORITY OF THE DISTRICT IS LOCATED TO HAVE ITS BUDGET APPROVED INSTEAD OF BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE COUNTY.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 6-11-265. Beginning January 1, 1991, the annual budget of a special purpose or public service district which is approved by the legislative delegation of the county in which a majority of the district is located shall have its budget approved by the governing body of the county in which a majority of the district is located instead of the delegation."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
