TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 57-11-25 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT NO MORE THAN THIRTY-TWO MILLION DOLLARS MAY BE APPROPRIATED FROM THE STATE HIGHWAY FUND FOR THE OPERATION OF THE HIGHWAY PATROL AND PROVIDE THAT ANY ADDITIONAL FUNDING MUST BE APPROPRIATED FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE STATE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina.
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 57-11-25. Effective July 1, 1991, no more than thirty-two million dollars may be appropriated from the State Highway Fund for the operation of the highway patrol. Any additional funding must be appropriated from the general fund of the State."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
