Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 34-11-140. When a person draws, makes, utters, issues, or delivers to another a check, a draft, or other written order on a bank or depository for the payment of money or its equivalent, whether given to obtain money, services, credit, property, or anything of value, any information he may be required to present for identification must not be disclosed except in relation to the immediate transaction.
