A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 8-11-665, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT PERMANENT PART-TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE STATE DESIGNATED AS (PPT) MAY ACCUMULATE AND BE PAID FOR AT RETIREMENT UP TO A TOTAL OF FORTY-FIVE DAYS OF ANNUAL LEAVE AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION DO NOT APPLY TO SCHOOL TEACHERS IN THE EMPLOY OF ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF THIS STATE REGARDLESS OF THEIR EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 8-11-665. Permanent part-time employees of the State designated as (PPT) may accumulate and be paid for at retirement up to a total of forty-five days of annual leave unless a higher total of accumulated leave is authorized pursuant to Section 8-11-610. The provisions of this section do not apply to school teachers in the employ of any school district of this State regardless of their employee classification."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
