TO COMMEND AND CONGRATULATE FAYE BUTLER OF RICHLAND COUNTY ON BEING NAMED OUTSTANDING ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL FOR 1991 BY THE SOUTH CAROLINA ASSOCIATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS AND TO EXTEND THE PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ON TUESDAY, MAY 21, 1991, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCEPTING THIS RESOLUTION.
Whereas, Faye Butler is the assistant principal of Columbia High School in Richland County School District 1; and
Whereas, Mrs. Butler has been an assistant principal for three years and is in charge of curriculum and instruction where she works closely with the teachers; and
Whereas, before becoming assistant principal Mrs. Butler was coordinator for the gifted and talented program for Richland County School District 1, and previously an English teacher at Fairwold Middle School (now W. G. Sanders Middle School); and
Whereas, Mrs. Butler is involved not only within the school but gives of herself to many community youth organizations, tutors students who are having difficulty with the required exit examination, and is involved in her church and community to assist young people; and
Whereas, the South Carolina Association of Secondary School Principals has chosen Mrs. Butler for her dedication to service on the job and in her community based upon the recommendation of the Columbia High School principal, Mr. Gary Gaddens; and
Whereas, this is the first year the Association has presented this award. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members commend and congratulate Mrs. Faye Butler of Richland County for being named Outstanding Assistant Principal for 1991 and for her achievements and dedication to her school and community. Mrs. Butler is extended the privilege of the floor of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, May 21, 1991, at a time to be determined by the Speaker, for the purpose of accepting this resolution.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Butler.
