TO CONGRATULATE MR. JIM SMITH OF ANDERSON UPON BEING NAMED THE ANDERSON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE'S 1991 SMALL BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that Jim Smith of Anderson has been named the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce's 1991 Small Business Person of the Year; and
Whereas, Jim Smith is the owner of the Tag & Label Corp. which produces tags and labels for individual and corporate needs; and
Whereas, he opened his business more than twenty years ago and during this period the company has experienced phenomenal growth and has expanded four times including a new plant on West Whitner Street in Anderson; and
Whereas, Jim Smith is a quiet leader who is highly respected not only by his employees but by his competitors as well. He has a unique ability to design much of his own equipment to meet special customer needs and is a substantial asset to the Anderson community known and appreciated for his strong support of business and the arts in Anderson; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate this outstanding South Carolinian upon his receipt of this truly deserved award. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly hereby congratulate Mr. Jim Smith of Anderson upon being named the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce's 1991 Small Business Person of the Year.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Smith.
