A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 4-18-30, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO PENALTIES UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF LAW REGULATING WRECKERS AT THE SCENE OF ACCIDENTS, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR A MAXIMUM FINE IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS, RATHER THAN NOT EXCEEDING TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 4-18-30 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 4-18-30. If a wrecker proceeds to the scene in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter, the owner of the wrecker shall be deemed is considered guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall must be fined in an amount not to exceed two hundred one thousand dollars or imprisoned for a term not to exceed thirty days."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
