A BILL

TO AMEND CHAPTER 1, TITLE 41, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 41-1-30, SO AS TO PROHIBIT AN EMPLOYER FROM DENYING A PART-TIME EMPLOYEE, IN PROPORTION TO HOURS WORKED, ANY BENEFIT WHICH WOULD NORMALLY ACCRUE TO HIM IF HE WERE A FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Chapter 1, Title 41 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding Section 41-1-30.

"Section 41-1-30. No employer of labor in this State shall deny a part-time employee, in proportion to hours worked, any benefit which would normally accrue to him if he were a full-time employee."

SECTION 2. This act takes affect upon approval of the Governor.
