A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF MR. HARRY L. CLINE, LONGTIME CHEROKEE COUNTY PUBLIC DEFENDER, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Mr. Harry L. Cline of Gaffney, longtime Cherokee County public defender, has died at the age of sixty-nine; and

Whereas, he was a native of Royse City, Texas, and moved to Gaffney with his family when he was two years old; and

Whereas, he graduated from the University of South Carolina and the USC law school before becoming a practicing attorney in Gaffney, and, in 1974, became the public defender; and

Whereas, he was an excellent lawyer and gave willingly to those who needed his talent and ability; and

Whereas, he was respected and admired throughout Cherokee County and will be missed greatly; and

Whereas, we want the members of his family and his many friends to know that they are in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow at the death of Mr. Harry L. Cline, longtime Cherokee County public defender, and extends sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Cline's family in care of his widow, Mrs. Olive Tate Cline of Gaffney.
