TO HONOR MARY GRACE GRADY WHO SELFLESSLY HAS SERVED THE GIRL SCOUTS AND THE PEE DEE COMMUNITY FOR OVER FORTY-FIVE YEARS.
Whereas, Mary Grace Grady has exemplified illustrious and honorable character through her conduct, service, and leadership of the Girl Scouts for thousands of girls in the Pee Dee community area and across the State; and
Whereas, Mary Grace Grady has diligently built the Pee Dee community Girl Scout program into one of the strongest Girl Scout's programs in the nation; and
Whereas, Mary Grace Grady has selflessly devoted her time and effort in supporting the Girl Scouts and the people of the Pee Dee community by organizing volunteers and establishing programs for the training, recruitment, education, and recognition of these volunteers; and
Whereas, Mary Grace Grady has served as the Executive Director of the Girl Scout Council of the Pee Dee community in Florence, South Carolina, for the past twenty-five years, thus distinguishing herself and the community by receiving national, state, and local recognitions; and
Whereas, Mary Grace Grady has established a solid financial statement for the Pee Dee area Council under her direction of record cookie sales and campaign fund raising in the region generating over $400,000 which was used for renovating and developing Girl Scout camp property into a modern and extensive camping facility with two recreational lakes and a large swimming pool; and
Whereas, Mary Grace Grady has served with honor and distinction in establishing a Satellite Service Center, renovating the Pee Dee Girl Scout Center, and directing the Camp Development Committee; and
Whereas, Mary Grace Grady has served on the Florence Chamber of Commerce, the Planning Committee of the Pee Dee Speech and Hearing Center, the Civitan Club, and many other service organizations in the region; and
Whereas, Mary Grace Grady has touched the lives of so many young girls and adults through her programs, that she will never be forgotten for her outstanding work. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the General Assembly and the people of South Carolina are grateful to Mary Grace Grady for her inspiring leadership which has set an excellent example for the people of South Carolina through her selfless and diligent dedications in putting the needs and welfare of others first.
