The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
O God and Father of us all, the Tower of strength to those who keep their faith in You, in our restlessness may we find peace in Your presence; in our anxiety, in the faithfulness of Your nearness; in our uncertainties, the assurance of Your guidance. Give us the ability and desire to do our work well this day and all our days. Let us not turn from difficulties, nor evade challenges, nor seek to escape duties. May the light of Your truths shine upon us in such a full measure that the darkness of doubt may be dispelled and confidence and courage may come to new life within us.
In the Name of our master Teacher we make our prayer. Amen.
