The House assembled at 10:00 A.M.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the Chaplain of the House of Representatives, the Rev. Dr. Alton C. Clark as follows:
Eternal God our Father, we thank You for our great State with her high mountains, deep valleys, broad fields; for her homes, Churches and Synagogues and schools, and above all for her people dedicated to freedom. We thank You for our heritage, the good gifts from the past, and we pray that we may continue good works in the present and lift them to greater heights for the future. Help us to build a highway of peace and good will as we become channels that "Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."
Hear us as we pray in humility to our Holy God. Amen.
