A SENATE RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SENATE TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS OF THE LATE COL. THOMAS E. LAMB OF CHAPIN.

Whereas, the members of the Senate were saddened to note the passing of Col. Thomas E. Lamb of Chapin on November 8, 1993, during the legislative interim; and

Whereas, Col. Lamb, a native of South Dakota, retired from the United States Air Force after a distinguished career, having flown fifty combat missions during World War II and held numerous headquarters assignments, including headquarters, United States European Command, and Air Force Technical Applications Center; and

Whereas, he also served as director of Air Force Junior ROTC at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, and Irmo High School, where he was an aerospace instructor; and

Whereas, it is appropriate for the members of the Senate to pause in their deliberations to note the passing of so distinguished a South Carolinian whose career and life were exemplary of those qualities that distinguish men and women in positions of command in the Armed Forces of the United States. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate extend sympathy to the family and many friends of Col. Thomas E. Lamb.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his wife, Syble Rebecca Lamb.
