CONGRATULATING THE LANDER UNIVERSITY SENATORS MEN'S TENNIS TEAM AND ITS COACH, WINNERS OF THE 1993 NCAA DIVISION II NATIONAL MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the Lander University Senators men's tennis team won the 1993 NCAA Division II national men's tennis championship; and
Whereas, the 1993 crown was the men's team's third consecutive championship and fifth in nine years; and
Whereas, the Lander men's tennis program also won its twelfth consecutive NAIA District 6 championship and its second NCAA Division II Peach Belt Athletic Conference title; and
Whereas, the men's tennis team at Lander University is clearly one of the best teams in the nation and is guided and directed by Coach Joseph Cabri, who keeps turning out championship squads and who is one of America's truly outstanding coaches; and
Whereas, the men's tennis team at Lander is composed of highly talented, dedicated, and hardworking players, and these young men have brought great honor to their university, to the Greenwood community, and to the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Lander University Senators men's tennis team and its coach, winners of the 1993 NCAA Division II national men's tennis championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Joseph Cabri and the Lander University men's tennis team.
