TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-11-50 SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE WOUNDING, INJURING, OR KILLING OF WILDLIFE WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO LOCATE IT AND TAKE IT INTO POSSESSION AND PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 50-11-50. It is unlawful for a person to wound, injure, or kill wildlife and fail to make a reasonable attempt to locate the wildlife and take it into possession. A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not more than two hundred dollars or imprisoned not more than thirty days."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
