A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 50-13-580, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE RETURN OF GAME FISH TO THE WATER, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE SECTION TO APPLY TO FISH TAKEN BY ANY UNLAWFUL METHOD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 50-13-580 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:

"Section 50-13-580. Should any Game fish be taken by net or other nongame fishing device while fishing for fish any method other than game fish, they those listed in Section 50-13-10 must be immediately returned to the water from whence which they came. Any A person violating the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined not less than fifty dollars nor more than two hundred dollars or imprisoned for not more than thirty days. Any Equipment and devices used in committing the violation must be seized and disposed of as provided in Section 50-13-1196."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
