A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 56-15-10, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEFINITIONS ON REGULATION OF MANUFACTURERS, DISTRIBUTORS AND DEALERS, SO AS TO EXCLUDE FROM THE DEFINITION OF MOTOR VEHICLE DEALER, COMPANIES IN THE BUSINESS OF LEASING MOTOR VEHICLES THAT SELL THEM UPON EXPIRATION OF THE LEASE AGREEMENT.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 56-15-10(h) of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"(6) companies engaged in the business of leasing motor vehicles for a period of not less than three months that dispose of the motor vehicles returned at the expiration of the lease period by sale, either wholesale or retail."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
