A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF SAMUEL J. FRETWELL, JR., OF ANDERSON COUNTY AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, Samuel Joseph Fretwell, Jr., of Williamston, Anderson County, died on February 14, 1993, at the age of fifty-seven; and

Whereas, Mr. Fretwell was a distinguished banker by profession, retiring in 1991 as Vice-President and City Executive of First Union National Bank of South Carolina in Williamston; and

Whereas, he was a former president of the Sertoma Club of Saluda Valley and former president of the Anderson Sertoma Club; he was also a former board member of the Anderson YMCA; and

Whereas, he was an outstanding individual who was greatly respected and admired by all who knew him and whose presence will truly be missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, express sorrow at the death of Samuel J. Fretwell, Jr., of Anderson County and extend sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Fretwell's family.
