TO PROHIBIT THE USE OF A CREDIT REPORT AS A BASIS FOR REFUSING TO ISSUE OR RENEW ANY POLICY OR CONTRACT OF INSURANCE IN THIS STATE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a credit report shall not be used, either directly or indirectly, as a basis for refusing to issue or renew any policy or contract of insurance in this State.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
