A HOUSE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE DORCHESTER ACADEMY LADY RAIDERS OF ST. GEORGE ON WINNING THE 1993 SCISAA CLASS AA SOFTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, AND GRANT THEM THE PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ON THURSDAY, MAY 20, 1993, AT A TIME TO BE DETERMINED BY THE SPEAKER.

Whereas, the Lady Raiders of Dorchester Academy won the 1993 SCISAA Class AA Softball State Championship; and

Whereas, they finished the 1993 season with an outstanding 14-3 record; and

Whereas, led by their outstanding coaches Mike Pate and Karen Schwendinger, the only father-daughter coaching team in the SCISAA, the Dorchester Academy Lady Raiders Softball Team consisted of Seniors Rachel Walters, Joy Weathers, Betsy Clarkson, Lori Dukes, Jeanie Marchant, and Dusty Hawkins; Juniors Jamie Sanders, Amy George, Amy Hill, Samantha Smith, and Lindsay Fender.

Whereas, the Dorchester Academy has won SCISAA Championship for the past two consecutive years. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Dorchester Academy Lady Raiders Softball Team of Dorchester on winning the SCISAA State Championship for 1993.

Be it further resolved that the team, coaches, and school officials be granted the privilege of the floor of the House Thursday, May 20, 1993, at a time to be determined by the Speaker, for the purpose of being recognized and congratulated.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Girls Softball Team of Dorchester Academy, in care of Coaches Mike Pate and Karen Schwendinger.
