A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-13-390 SO AS TO REQUIRE FISH CAUGHT ON WATERS IN WHICH FISH SIZE LIMITS ARE IN EFFECT TO BE MAINTAINED IN A WHOLE CONDITION WHILE ON THE WATERS AND PROVIDE FOR PENALTIES.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-13-390. A person who fishes on waters in which fish size limits are in effect shall maintain his catch in a whole condition while on the waters. The fish must not be dressed, filleted, beheaded, or mutilated in a manner which prevents the determination of its total length. A person who violates this section, upon conviction, must be punished as provided in Section 50-13-285."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
