A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE COACH JOSEPH CABRI FOR HIS OUTSTANDING COACHING ABILITIES IN LEADING LANDER UNIVERSITY'S MEN'S TENNIS TEAM TO NATIONAL ATHLETIC RECOGNITION.

Whereas, the members of the Senate are very pleased to learn that Coach Joseph Cabri has once again brought national attention to Lander University, Greenwood County, and the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, Coach Cabri's outstanding coaching abilities have enabled the men's tennis team to achieve recognition as the 1992 NAIA national men's tennis champions, Lander's fourth national team championship in eight years, their twelfth consecutive NAIA District 6 championship and their first Peach Belt Athletic Conference Championship during their inaugural year in the NCAA Division II; and

Whereas, Coach Cabri's accomplishments earned him his third NAIA National Coach of the Year title in addition to being a two-time national ITCA/Wilson Coach of the Year and coached players to twenty-eight All-American titles; and

Whereas, Joe Cabri is to be commended for encouraging his young players to be achievers off the court with over sixty percent of his recent and former players in graduate school;

Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize Coach Joseph Cabri upon his commitment and dedication to the athletic ability, as well as academic achievement of his players. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate hereby congratulate Coach Joseph "Joe" Cabri for his outstanding coaching abilities in leading Lander University's men's tennis team to national recognition.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Joseph Cabri, Coach, and Lander University Athletic Director, Finis Horne.
