TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY OF MRS. VERNA LEONA "TINCY" P. SETZLER OF WEST COLUMBIA, MOTHER OF OUR FRIEND AND COLLEAGUE, THE HONORABLE NIKKI G. SETZLER, UPON HER DEATH.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Verna Leona "Tincy" P. Setzler of West Columbia, on March 10, 1994, after a recent illness; and
Whereas, Mrs. Setzler was a native of Asheville, North Carolina, widow of the late H. Earl Setzler, and mother of our friend and colleague Nikki G. Setzler from Lexington; and
Whereas, Mrs. Setzler was widely known and admired throughout the West Columbia community where she operated a retail food business for many years prior to her retirement, and where she was a thirty-year member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in West Columbia prior to her death; and
Whereas, she not only was a devoted wife to her late husband and a loving mother to her son, Nikki, but also was a devoted grandmother to her four granddaughters and a wonderful companion and friend to her two sisters; and
Whereas, the loss of this delightful and charming lady will be felt not only by her very close family but by her many friends throughout West Columbia and Lexington County as well; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to extend their sincere condolences to her son, Nikki, her sisters, and the other members of the Setzler family in this time of sorrow. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly extend their deepest sympathy to the family of Mrs. Verna Leona "Tincy" P. Setzler of West Columbia, mother of our friend and colleague, the Honorable Nikki G. Setzler, upon her death.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to her son, Nikki G. Setzler.
