A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 23-31-110, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEFINITIONS USED IN THE REGULATIONS OF PISTOLS SO AS TO ADD CERTAIN DEFINITIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 23-31-110 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"(j) `Business days' means the days on which state offices are open.

(k) `Chief law enforcement officer' means the Chief of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

(l) `Purchaser' means the person who knowingly buys, offers to buy, receives, or otherwise requests the dealer to deliver or transfer the pistol.

(m) `DIN' or `dealer identifier number' means a unique number issued to each dealer licensed in the state to sell pistols.

(n) `Application' means the Firearm Transaction Form as described in Section 23-31-140."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
