CONGRATULATING JOYCE PEEBLES OF PENDLETON HIGH SCHOOL ON HER PHENOMENAL SUCCESS AND CHAMPIONSHIP HONORS AT THE 1994 CLASS AA GIRLS TRACK MEET IN COLUMBIA.
Whereas, Joyce Peebles of Pendleton High School is one of the most outstanding and successful distance runners ever at the high school level in the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, at the Class AA Girls State Track Meet held recently in Columbia, she won her fourth consecutive championship in the 3,200 meters races, her third in the 1,600, and her second in the 800, even though she is only a sophomore; and
Whereas, she is an exceptionally talented athlete and is also a truly outstanding young woman; and
Whereas, her track successes have brought pride to Pendleton High School and her community and have made her highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Joyce Peebles of Pendleton High School on her phenomenal success and championship honors at the 1994 Class AA Girls Track Meet in Columbia.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Miss Peebles.
