A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING DR. PEGGY CAIN FOR HER OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO PUBLIC EDUCATION.

Whereas, Dr. Peggy Cain began educating young people thirty-one years ago at Mayewood High School; and

Whereas, her dedication to duty and her total commitment to providing students an opportunity to excel in the sciences have been highlighted by numerous innovative programs; and

Whereas, especially notable among her many achievements are milestone enhancement of the statewide science curriculum and development and implementation and evaluation of an elementary science leadership program; and

Whereas, she was elected to the Sumter County School District Two Board of Trustees in 1990 and has been serving diligently and professionally throughout her tenure; and

Whereas, her efforts and achievements reflect great credit upon her, her family, Sumter School District Two, and public education in South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends Dr. Peggy Cain for her outstanding service and commitment to public education.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dr. Cain.
