AN ACT TO AMEND ACT 337 OF 1971, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE CREATION OF THE GRAND STRAND WATER AND SEWER AUTHORITY, SO AS TO GRANT THE AUTHORITY THE POWER, WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE CUSTOMER, TO ROUND TO THE NEXT HIGHEST DOLLAR A CUSTOMER'S BILL AND DISBURSE THE FUNDS REALIZED FROM THIS ROUNDING PROCEDURE FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Authority may round customer's bill
SECTION 1. Section 7 of Act 337 of 1971 is amended by adding:
"(29) With the approval of the customer, round and collect to the next highest dollar, the amount of a customer's bill for services rendered by the authority. The authority may disburse, in amounts the authority considers necessary, the funds realized from this rounding procedure for charitable purposes for which the authority has the sole discretion to determine."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
