TO APPROVE REGULATIONS OF THE BOARD OF CHIROPRACTIC EXAMINERS, RELATING TO REPLACING ALL EXISTING REGULATIONS, DESIGNATED AS REGULATION DOCUMENT NUMBER 1501, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE 1, CHAPTER 23, TITLE 1 OF THE 1976 CODE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The regulations of the Board of Chiropractic Examiners, relating to Replacing all Existing Regulations, designated as Regulation Document Number 1501, and submitted to the General Assembly pursuant to the provisions of Article 1, Chapter 23, Title 1 of the 1976 Code, are approved.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
The proposed regulations outline the organization and administration of the board; adds an explanation of the board's purpose; defines the requirements for application for board examination; establishes a one-year time limit for valid applications; raises the required passing score for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners' examination; defines and establishes grounds for denial of an application; amends the examination subjects to conform to subjects currently tested; establishes an examination review procedure; defines procedures and requirements for retaking failed examinations; defines acts and/or grounds for disciplinary action and incorporates the current limitation of practice; defines and establishes rule for specialty certification; establishes rule for retention of records; amends rule for reporting contagious and infectious diseases; defines and establishes guidelines for advertising and bans intrusive methods of solicitation of patients; adds disciplinary procedures as defined in statute; adds requirement for a complaint docket to be maintained.
