A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 14-25-11 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT ALL MUNICIPAL COURTS OF THIS STATE ARE DECLARED TO BE A PART OF THE UNIFIED JUDICIAL SYSTEM OF THIS STATE AND AS A RESULT ARE SUBJECT TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION OF THE CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 4, ARTICLE V OF THE CONSTITUTION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 14-25-11. All municipal courts of this State are declared to be a part of the unified judicial system of this State and as a result are subject to the administrative supervision of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court as provided in Section 4, Article V of the Constitution."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
