A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MR. AND MRS. SAM WOODRING OF NORTH AUGUSTA UPON THEIR RECEIPT OF THE AIKEN COUNTY OUTSTANDING OLDER AMERICAN AWARD.

Whereas, the members of the Senate are very pleased to learn that Mr. and Mrs. Sam Woodring of North August were presented the Aiken County Outstanding Older American Award at the 25th anniversary celebration of the Aiken Area Council on Aging; and

Whereas, Sam and Mim Woodring have been civic and community leaders in North Augusta and in Aiken County for many decades and have published The Star for forty-one years which is a weekly newspaper serving the North Augusta, Belvedere, and Merriwether communities; and

Whereas, these two outstanding South Carolinians throughout their adult lives have given freely of their time and talents to their fellow man and have contributed greatly to the wonderful community and county in which they live; and

Whereas, the members of the Senate, by this resolution, would like to congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Woodring on the occasion of their receipt of this truly deserved award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Sam Woodring of North Augusta upon their receipt of the Aiken County Outstanding Older American Award.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. and Mrs. Sam Woodring.
