To whom was referred a Bill (S. 236), to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Sections 5-3-15 and 55-11-185 so as to provide that the real property owned by an airport district, etc., respectfully

A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTIONS 5-3-15 AND 55-11-185 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY AN AIRPORT DISTRICT COMPRISED OF MORE THAN ONE COUNTY MAY NOT BE ANNEXED BY A MUNICIPALITY WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE DISTRICT, AND PROVIDE THAT THE REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG AIRPORT DISTRICT MAY NOT BE ANNEXED BY A MUNICIPALITY WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL OF THE GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG AIRPORT COMMISSION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 5-3-15. No municipality may annex, under the provisions of this chapter, any real property owned by an airport district comprised of more than one county without prior written approval of the governing body of the district."

SECTION 2. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 55-11-185. No municipality may annex any real property owned by the District without prior written approval of the Commission."

SECTION 3. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
