A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-15-140 SO AS TO REQUIRE A MOTOR VEHICLE DEALER TO OBTAIN THE PERMISSION OF THE PURCHASER OF A MOTOR VEHICLE BEFORE AFFIXING TO THE VEHICLE THE DEALER'S NAME OR LOGO.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 56-15-140. A dealer shall obtain the permission of the purchaser of a motor vehicle, sold by that dealer to that purchaser, before affixing to the vehicle in any manner whatever the dealer's name or logo."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
