A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 50-9-840, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO HUNTING AND FISHING LICENSES FOR PERSONS WHO HAVE ATTAINED THE AGE OF SIXTY-FIVE YEARS, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE LICENSES TO BE ISSUED TO CERTAIN GEORGIA RESIDENTS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 50-9-840 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Section 1261, Act 181 of 1993, is further amended to read:

"Section 50-9-840. (A) Any A person who has been a resident of the State for at least one year, and who has attained the age of sixty-five years may secure a license to hunt and fish within any county in this State without cost, upon presentation of sufficient evidence to any an enforcement officer that he has been a resident for such period at least one year and has attained the age of sixty-five years.

(B) A resident of Georgia who has attained the age of sixty-five years and has been issued a valid lifetime honorary hunting license by Georgia may secure a license to hunt and fish pursuant to subsection (A) without cost upon presentation of the Georgia license to an enforcement officer."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
