A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING SPARTANBURG HIGH SCHOOL ON WINNING THE 1994 CLASS AAAA DIVISION 1 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN FOOTBALL.

Whereas, in one of the best high school games ever played in South Carolina, Spartanburg High School defeated city rival Dorman High School 24-17 at Memorial Stadium in Clemson on December 3, 1994, to clinch the 1994 Class AAAA Division 1 state championship in football; and

Whereas, Spartanburg Head Coach, Doc Davis guided his Vikings to a perfect 15-0 record for the 1994 season; and

Whereas, the Vikings exhibited dedication, hard work, unity, and tremendous talent during their championship campaign and made all of their fans and followers extremely proud; and

Whereas, winning a state crown such as this is quite an accomplishment -- one which is greatly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Spartanburg High School on winning the 1994 Class AAAA Division I state championship in football.

Be it further resolved that this resolution be forwarded to the Spartanburg High School football team, in care of Head Coach Doc Davis.
